The impact of this Castle Doctrine has recorded evidence of increased violence, delay in making arrests of the attacker and the handling of the case becomes more difficult for judges and prosecutors. The Castle Doctrine is considered controversial also because of its ability to increase violent criminal activities.  For example, after it was passed in Arizona, the incidences of robbery increased especially for armed robberies. In contrast the robberies conducted without any firearms had a relatively slow increase. Besides the rate of suicide has also increased due to the enactment of this act. The Doctrine has also complicated the cases of domestic violence because it serves as an exception where the intruder and the victim share the same house.
