Answer :
1 Introduction
This report outlines the project management of organising a charity concert in Paris. The following sections of the report would provide a brief summary of the scope and objectives of the project and the various aspects of management and completion of the project. The tasks to be achieved would be planned using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) (Forner, 2016). For the purpose of effective planning, stakeholder analysis and risk analysis have been done. The key stakeholders have been identified and risk matrix have been used to manage the risks (Mositeer, 2017).
2 Project Background and Scope
A charity concert is being organised in Paris to raise awareness about the Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is one of the major causes of premature deaths in France. According to health data, between 2007 and 2017 there was a 21.8% increase in deaths due to Alzheimer’s in the country (The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), 2019). Alzheimer’s Association reports (Alzheimer's Association, 2020), “In France, more than 1,175,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and more than 200,000 people are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another dementia each year.” The severity of this disease has led the project organizers to organise a charity concert dedicated to this cause.
The scope of the project includes the following:
• Organize a medium scale charity concert in Paris
• Obtain approval of the competent authorities
• An event spanning for 3 days
• 3 international rock music artists would be performing
• Targeted daily footfall of 1500
• Event promotion through advertisements
• Arrangements for refreshments
• Provide free parking
• Construction of a maximum of two booths, one each at the entry and exit gates to spread awareness about Alzheimer’s disease
• Provision for 60 days advance booking to avoid last-minute rush
3 Project Objectives
The primary aim of this project is to organise a fundraising charity concert in Paris to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. The objectives in relation to the event are listed below:
• To raise money through tickets and donations.
• To donate the proceeds to government organisations and charity who work for the betterment of Alzheimer’s patients.
• To raise awareness about Alzheimer’s through information and entertainment.
• To use social, entertainment and news media for wide coverage of the event.
4 Conclusion
a primary outline of the charity event has been identified. The project outline can be assessed from the work breakdown structure and can be changed according to requirements. Stakeholder management is a key to success for this charity concert. Hence, it is evident that their management is necessary. Also, the risk analysis as explain above provides a detailed study of the probable risks. These data would benefit the project manager to create a better project management plan and achieve the desired target.
