Fading support for reconstruction was preceded by the South’s unwillingness to abide by federal laws that stated they had to treat the newly freed slaves. The provision for the Reconstruction faded in the years previous to the Compromise of 1877 that repeated the power of the Democratic party in the South. The chief reasons for the drop in provision for the Reconstruction can be seen in the slow retrieval of the Southern economy with higher prices of military rendezvous in the region. There was unwillingness of the South to follow the central laws.
