Gatsby discontinues his grand parties at his West Egg mansion in Chapter 7. He ends the celebration that would have made him famous in the area, attracting many crowds to his home weekly. Gatsby’s aim is to capture Daisy’s heart, as all his being will be channeled towards achieving this goal. The parties served only as a way to entice Daisy and bring her to his house. Daisy is now back in Gatsby’s orbit through Nick’s invitation to tea, and so Gatsby already has this instrument of bringing Daisy to reunite with him . Instead of the panoramic, his mind shifts to creating a particular intimacy with Daisy, which, moreover, results in abandoning the flamboyant social events.
