Question:- Goals are more specific versions of benchmark objectives. A. True B. False
Answer: B: False
The concept of aims and objectives may differ, but they both as facets are integral in planning and goal setting processes. Goals are usually specific and measurable objectives, which are overall used to realize the bigger purpose. On the contrary, purposes are normally the ultimate outcomes that target current state as well as future conditions.
Benchmark objectives, otherwise known as milestones or targets, are unique in the sense that they are specific, measurable, and time restricted objectives which check on the progress of the situation as well as give periodic updates on the status of the larger goal. They serve to keep a track of how far ahead we are, and to measure our performances from different checkpoints .
In the light of the above discussion, saying that “objectives are more specific version of the benchmark objectives” is wrong. It is the other way around: performance measurement objectives are the more granular generic statements that are fulfilled for the sake of broad goals.
