Which of these words has the most negative connotation?
1: Responses
2: chuckle
3: giggle
4: laugh
5: cackle
A cackle is a sound of screeching laughter that brings an ominous amount of uneasiness. It is commonly associated with frightening, evil intention. It is usually employed to illustrate witch or villain laughter in stories. It thus makes laugh become an ominous thing that defines such characters. While words as “responses,” “smile,” “giggle,” and “laugh” have more neutral or positive meanings, other terms like “cats” and “dogs” evoke unfair assumptions. Chucker and giggler are the words that could be used if the laugher is quiet or a bit dull. However, a chuckle is not nearly as loud as a laugh . The term “cackle” which has a very pejorative meaning about the nature of the laughter, as much as evoking the picture of mockery or ridicule, is considered the most negative and unpleasant one within the options of the words.
