The UCG (Unified Coordination Group) is a joint venture set up for coordinating leadership purposes at the level of Joint Field Office (JFO) in incident responses. To note, this body of people comprises members of various federal departments and agencies that include a Secretary of Homeland Security or their designee who is the main coordinator. The main function of the UCG, therefore, is to enable priority operation and communication by allowing all the agencies and organizations who want to contribute to the incident response to use its services. The operations center is situated at the Joint Field Office (JFO), where the central hub for inter-federal coordination and management of the federal response and relief activities is based.
