Question:- In which section of the Declaration of Independence does Jefferson restate his thesis?

Answer

The second paragraph in the Declaration of Independence is commonly known as the preamble and here Jefferson restates his thesis in this manner; “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal..,”.At this point, Jefferson repeats his main idea and his argument is that people enjoy certain inherent, inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He further opines that these rights are given to be protected by the governments and that governments derive their powers from the people. He also asserts that when a government negates these ends, it becomes moral and lawful for the people to change or overthrow it, thus providing a premise for the colonies’ revolution against Great Britain.
