Can classical conditioning be used to manipulate emotions?

Question:- Can classical conditioning be used to manipulate emotions?

Answer: Yes, the process of classical conditioning can still be applied to control or at least influence emotions.

Classical conditioning can be described as a type of learning process that involves pairing of a previously neutral stimulus with a stimulus that naturally triggers that response with a view of making the response automatic. This principle is very useful when it comes to appealing to emotions since it uses a neutral stimulus to arrive at an emotional response.

For instance, in advertising some physical features such as images, tunes or symbols can be associated with joy, elation, or even appetite. Gradually, these stimuli themselves, which were once neutral, get conditioned so that they trigger these positive feelings when the actual object that elicited them, which was initially present, is not there. Likewise, fear and other emotional disorders are also initiated through classical conditioning which an object or individual acquires through fear or anxiety-triggering events.
