What part of a neuron receives messages from other cells?

Question:- What part of a neuron receives messages from other cells?

Answer: The right choice in this case is dendrites.

These cells or elements are called neurons and are said to be the building blocks of the nervous system since it transmits electric impulses. They have structures which are used mainly for the reception and transmission of information. The receiving part of a neuron where messages are sent to from other cells is referred to as the dendrites.

The dendrites are the tree like branchy extension or projection that come out of the main body of the neuron. They are the first order receivers from other neurons or sensory receptors within the nervous system. Dendrites are also surrounded by synapses which are special contacts between neurons at which the chemical transmitters are released from the axon tips of other neurons. These neurotransmitters when attach to receptors on the dendrites, this activates sending of impulses in the form of electrons towards the cell body then the axon to enable the neuron filter and relay a message to the other cells.
