Besides geology, earth science embraces meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy to some extent because of the relation of Earth to the rest of the solar system. Relatively, geology is a specialized branch of earth science. Concerning its focus, it directly focuses on the solid earth, the rocks, the minerals, the landforms and even the processes that go ahead in the formation of them. Though geology is an essential part of earth science, it is not comprehensive of other major facets of earth science that deal with all the systems of the earth and their interconnectivity.
