Frankenstein ends with his death while wishing that he had the ability of destroying the Monster created by him. The Monster had visited Frankenstein’s body and he had stated his regrets related to the murders committed by him and that he had an intention of committing suicide. The death of Frankenstein also depicts that he was not able to gain any learning or lesson from his story. At the end the Monster was also seen mourning Victor’s death due to which he wanted to die, however, the ways by which the Monster and Victor Frankenstein died were quite different. The technique of ring composition was mainly used in the novel with the aim of developing an appropriate connection between the start and the end of this novel. The death of Frankenstein happened on the ship of Robert Walton within the Arctic Circle and further, the Monster had also shown his unhappiness and loneliness after the death of Victor.

Although earlier Frankenstein had depicted the creature to be quite terrible and a demon by nature, the characteristics depicted by him in the last scene was vastly different. The major reason that was found behind the lonely death of Victor Frankenstein was mainly related to his selfish nature due to which he had created the Monster. Frankenstein also failed to learn from his mistakes and actions due to which he had to face the tragic death and the Monster cannot be entirely blamed for this ending. Although Frankenstein was unable to gain any learning from his own actions, the creature on the other hand depicted huge evolution and changes and was not happy for his actions. The death of Victor Frankenstein can however be considered as a logical result as he had no regrets regarding his actions and did not show any changes.
