According to the ABO blood grouping system, the type B blood is that which shall have the red blood cell with the B antigens present on the outside layer. This is because their blood lacks the corresponding anti-B antibodies due to the response their body has towards the production of B antigens. But they have anti-A antibodies, perhaps some type of Test used to identify the A antigen which is a part of the red blood cells of the people with type A blood. This is so since the immune system is programmable to search for antigens, antigens in this case being the structures within the body in this case being the A antigen and the immune system produces antigens to combat such structures. Therefore type Bi is a person who lacks B antigen group on RBC’s but has anti A antibodies in his plasma and therefore will have a transfusion reaction if given group A or AB blood.
