Software actually supplies the commands that will be carried out by the hardware as well the algorithms that would enable the execution of intentions.

From a more basic standpoint, any computer part that has an actual physical presence and can be felt and moved, is a hardware part. On the other hand, the non-physical, intangible inside parts are software.
