The House Un-American Activities Committee was considered to be a committee which was developed only with the aim of detecting the fascists or communist activities within American region. The blacklisting of people due to investigation and activities of the committee has been an important aspect related to its operations. The blacklisting of 100 of people was considered to be a major result of the activities that were performed by House Un-American Activities Committee and this played an important role in proper investigation of the alleged levels of disloyalties and the subversive activities being performed by the individuals. The organizations had major suspicions related to the suspected ties that the members had with the fascists or communists. The significant step implemented by the HUAC was related to effective investigation of charges related to espionage that was mainly brought against an individual named Alger Hiss in the year 1948.
