Answer: C. Preparing and documenting Incident Action Plans.

The Planning Section takes on the incident management process much more seriously, and they do that by not only preparing and documenting the Incident Action Plans (IAPs) but also putting the needed time and effort into it. IAPs are all-encompassing documents designed to be the guiding factor in the identification of the plan’s approach, the method of implementation, the resources required, and most importantly, the process for the efficient execution. The Planning Section works on getting, interpreting, and forecasting incidents; together implying on other departments and the command staff, they come up with the incident action plans. They act like a conductor, for all respondents, making sure everything is done with sequence and in accordance with the mandate. The plan preparation process, apart from the documentation tasks, entails keeping all the records in place, preparing reports as well as identifying stakeholders that may be affected at various points of the incident.
