What Does Gatsby Want From Daisy In Chapter 6?
In the chapter 6, Gatsby shares his bold fantasy: if he and Daisy are reunited, he will be able to go back five years and start over as if nothing had happened. It would be as though she had never wed Tom and he had never served in the military.
Gatsby demands that Daisy acknowledge that she has never loved the man she married. He begs her to acknowledge that her only desire in a guy is Gatsby. Given how important it is to him, the situation is extremely stressful. Gatsby also wishes for Daisy to break up with Tom. Said another way, he insists that she declare her desire to end her relationship with her present partner.
Gatsby is determined about their separation. Everyone is going to have to pretend that she and Tom never dated after that. Gatsby makes every effort to convince Daisy to pursue his ambition throughout the chapter 6.
Gatsby likewise makes an effort to convey that he is willing to resume their previous connection. Thus, Gatsby wants Daisy to fully dedicate herself to their relationship by moving away from Tom.
Tom has an incredibly beautiful, wealthy, and sophisticated wife. He has intense possessive feelings for her and enjoys her companionship in public. But he needs more than Daisy by herself.
Daisy became the epitome of all that Gatsby aspired to have in life. She is the peak of refinement and money. Even though Gatsby adores this aspect of Daisy, she is unable to realize his aspirations because she is an aristocrat. She would never compromise her social standing to be with him. Her love of luxury outweighs her love for him.
