Question:- Which of the following best describes how the intolerable acts affect the American colonies

Answer

In 1774, the British Parliament made what was called the Intolerable Acts aboard which were a package that was full of punitive laws to be imposed on the American colonies. These events had a profound effect on the colonies and eventually motivated the revolutions of the American Revolution which was greatly attributed to them. The aim of the legislation was to punish Massachusetts for dumping tea into the Boston Harbour and, thereby, also to impose a total British sovereignty, infringe on the self-governance of colonists and force them to commit to quarter British soldiers. These strict rules provoked a unanimous reaction of the colonists that they were an infringement of the rights, and hence a resistance movement was prepared to shield their liberties. The Intolerable Acts excited conciliation, reinforced notions of common hurts and in the term, made the colonies more bullish about separating from British Authority
