The respiratory system is among the important body systems, and the general roles of the system are mainly related to processes of exchanging gasses between the body and the external environment. Its main function is to get rid of or discharge; which is the process of respiration to take in oxygen from the lungs to the blood, and to take out carbon dioxide from the blood to the lungs to expel out. However, the transportation of CO2 in the form of bicarbonate from tissues to blood vessels is not a direct result of the respiratory system. The effectiveness of this process is the function of the cardiovascular system, penetration of blood via the body and expulsion of carbon dioxide in the lungs during the exhalation.
