Answer: C. Propaganda campaign
The United States set up the Committee on Public Information to inculcate support for war during World War I. George Creel, a journalist by profession, lead the CPI which undertook different forms of media and used some advertising strategies to help generate support for men in war as well create national enmity against their enemies. For such goals the CPI produced patriotic posters and films, hired speakers to deliver lectures from pulpits in public places all over America, propaganda was inserted into news and entertainment. It indulged, deceived, and played on popular emotions. The CPI was at its core a propaganda outfit that did not do scientific research, conduct statistical studies or serve as some sort of detached fact-finder. It was coined with a psychological intention of gearing the Americans towards entering into war . With a fortunate series of propaganda efforts, the CPI managed to sway public opinion strongly in support introducing America into World War I.
