Grendel is considered to be an outcast who has been destined to walk on face of the earth. He himself takes revenge upon the humans by occasionally devouring and terrorizing warriors of Hrothgar who is the Danish king. Grendel has the ability of knowing the activities of thinking of the other individuals and he aims at seeing the things which he is always able to see. Gardner has never moved away from his first-person experiences and he provides appropriate insights into the motives and actions of his creature.
