Who was the last sultan of the Slave dynasty?

Answer: The last sultan of Slave Dynasty or Mamluk Dynasty was Muiz ud din Kaiqubad. He was the Sultan who, for a period of about; 1287-1290 CE, presided over the decline and fall of the Mamluk Sultanate in Delhi. Kaiqubad was a young boy when he inherited the sit on the throne, and he was the grandson of Ghiyas ud din Balban. Due to his mis-administration and leadership, he spent most of his time in personal pleasures rather than attending to the needs of the kingdom; hence the kingdom was filled with political instability and court intrigues. His reign marked the fall of Slave dynasty and the beginning of the Khalji dynasty in the sub-continent. Due to Kaiqubad’s inefficiency and his assassination in 1290 CE extinguished the Mamluk chain of power in India that has been founded almost a century ago by Qutb ud-din Aibak in 1206 CE.
