Why do less active Americans not increase their activity levels?

Question: Why do less active Americans not increase their activity levels?

Answer:

For Americans who live with low-activity lives, there are multiple factors that could be why they do not increase their activity level. One cause for that may be unmotivated attitude or such obstacles as lack of time, tiredness, sitting position or similar. Others might have instances where their self –efficacy and confidence in doing exercise on a regular basis are low. Additionally, physical activities are inhibited by environmental components such as the insufficiency of access to parks, safe sidewalks, or gym memberships which are affordable. Having a health condition, getting an injury or becoming handicapped may pose obstacles to some people’s participation in specific exercises. However, cultural customs, social life or a deficit in knowledge of the efficacy of exercise could cause some segments of the population to have a lower frequency of physical activity. Educating on these barriers with policy-making changes and creating a respecting environment will result in more Americans leading an active lifestyle
