Cyclops Polyphemus persuaded Odysseus to come back to his home on the island. At the start of the novel Cyclops depicted the intention of befriending Odysseus and wished for his good. Polyphemus however aimed at deceiving Odysseus for avenging the pierced eye. Odysseus is mainly considered to be a hero within the Greek mythology and he was also the king of the island Ithaca. Odysseus was a participant in Trojan War and he was quite famous as described in the adventures of Odysseus that are a part of various literary works. Homer’s Odyssey was a famous character and the story of Cyclops Polyphemus also deserved special levels of attention. The conflicts developed between Cyclops Polyphemus and Odysseus had revealed a vibrant aspect of the character of Odysseus. The journey that was made by Odysseus while returning back to his island is an important aspect of the adventures. Odysseus along with the others found the unattended cave which was filled with milk, cheese, lambs and the milking implements. The host of the cave was Cyclops Polyphemus and he was also the sea god named Poseidon’s son. Proper hospitality was not depicted by Cyclops as he closed the entrance of the cave with a stone and further ate some friends of Odysseus. The skills and intelligence of Odysseus played the most important role in helping the team so that they could escape from the monster. Cyclops was eaten by Odysseus and also blinded him and after that his crew returned to his shop. After this incident Polyphemus was quite angry and thereby, he also tried to block the ship. The gifts were promised to Odysseus and he also prayed for Poseidon although Odysseus does not believe Cyclops.
